D.Findley

D. Findley was born and raised in the scenic jungle of Brooklyn, New York as the daughter of Afro-Caribbean immigrants. A self-taught artist D. has led a very blessed and unconventional life. During her formative years, with the guidance of her father, she developed a strong love and respect for Black culture, black history, and black identity.  Along with the instruction of a GOD-fearing mother, she would be encouraged to establish a greater understanding of her faith through scripture. Somewhere between life, living, and the scriptures, GOD would reveal a truth that she was hesitant to fathom. This revelation would completely change her understanding of scripture and the gospel of Christ. Through the use of gouache, watercolor, and various art mediums, D. creates vibrant, luscious botanical works that bring that revelation to life.
